I make this clear, upfront, but not for the reasons you may think. I’m not a slut, because sluts don’t exist. Though labels like “slut” exist to vilify women who are deemed sexually active, and the shaming of women for enjoying sex. I don’t abide by them just because someone else says I should think of women in this way. Aside from this label being inherently descriptive of women, regardless of the fact that men have sex too, they are merely words used to marginalize those who don’t feel compelled to live according to other people’s demands for sexual propriety.

I am so tired of hearing people call girls sluts for having active sex lives. Just because you personally do not make the same decisions regarding sex does not make someone else a slut. Your sex life is your business, always. And slut is a super judgmental term. It’s outdated, and quite frankly, stupid. Having any sort of sex life is a personal choice. No one should feel badly about having an active one, just like no one should feel badly about not having an active sex life.

Life is filled with simple pleasures. They are the gifts of life that we should celebrate in our own unique way. Sex is one of the pleasures of life given to us to love and enjoy. The most pleasurable physical pleasure I think is clear: sex. And of course, we should imagine here good sex, with someone that you very much want to have sex with and as long as the sex is SAFE! When you have an active sex life but deny yourself because of outside opinion, you are denying yourselves the greatest pleasures of life. With that said, I'm a lover of life and I intend to enjoy all the pleasures, life has to offer, so you can call me a LOVER!
